Dayton, OH – Spectrum Insurance Agency has officially awarded a $10,000 donation to Spectrum New Beginnings (SNB), a nonprofit committed to improving mental health and wellness through holistic self-care practices. The funding will help expand its impact significantly by partnering with ten East Dayton organizations to offer on-site self-care labs. These labs will include mindful movement, chair massage, creative journaling, and childcare. The funding will also strengthen women’s programs and help increase SNB’s administrative and marketing capacity, enabling the nonprofit to operate more efficiently and reach more people in need.

Initially, Spectrum Insurance Agency received a $5,000 donation through the Liberty Mutual® and Safeco Insurance® 2025 Make More Happen™ Awards program for its partnership with Spectrum New Beginnings. After their story was featured on the Make More Happen microsite,  the community rallied with over 500 votes and comments—triggering a matching donation and bringing the total to $10,000.

Improving lives can start with something as simple as helping people pause, breathe, and reconnect. Spectrum Insurance Agency believes in that power, which is why agency owner Dan Loofboro founded Spectrum New Beginnings, a Dayton-based nonprofit dedicated to holistic wellness and self-care. The organization empowers women, children and young adults, veterans, and other community members to renew their minds and transform their lives.

Spectrum New Beginnings tackles critical mental health and wellness needs by providing self- care tools, supportive communities for women, and mobile Self-Care Days that bring healing practices directly into underserved neighborhoods. Spectrum Insurance’s commitment extends far beyond financial support. The agency provides in-kind administrative services, agency owners serve on the board, and team members volunteer to lead mindful movement and yoga sessions during SNB events.

“Recognizing independent agents’ dedication to their communities and nonprofit partners is what the Make More Happen Awards are all about,” said Michael Vice, Senior Territory Manager, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance. “Spectrum Insurance Agency is an inspiring example of how agencies can lead transformational change in their communities.”

Throughout 2025, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance will select up to 36 independent agencies nationwide for a Make More Happen Award, donating up to $360,000 to nonprofits they support. Agencies become eligible for the award by submitting applications showcasing their commitment to a specific cause.
